"Of the 23.2 million Americans who needed treatment for an illicit
drug or alcohol abuse problem in 2005, only 10% received it."

A Safe Haven was founded on a simple vision... to create recovery home living that champions the quality of life that surrounds people. Today, we are one of the most effective and innovative providers of recovery home services in the Midwest.

Recovery involves a mix of service components.  Each client designs - a personal recovery plan that coordinates and utilizes an array of support services that meet unique needs and helps an individual initiate or sustain recovery.  Once a case manager coordinates services, clients are taught how to implement the plan through instruction, coaching and increasing self awareness.

A Safe Haven supports an individual as he enters into and sustains long term recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. Detoxification, treatment and mental health services are available and trained recovery case managers, on site at A Safe Haven, work individually with each client to design a personal Continuum of Housing and Care.  12 Step programs, child care, medical support, technical job training, core life skills including hygiene, grooming, punctuality, and meal preparation, increase a client's ability to stay sober and productive. Sober and transitional residences evolve into affordable housing opportunities for clients as long term recovery is sustained.

A Safe Haven boasts one of the highest rates of sustained sobriety by clients, along with nearly 100% family reintegration of our residents with their children. We provide training and business ownership in the salon and spa industry at A Nail Haven. First, a healthy, safe and recovery supported living environment...then, the option of affordable housing. Job skills and recovery management sustain a place to live.

We have provided housing and recovery home services since May 1995 and are fully licensed by the State of Illinois. We operate eleven multi-residential units, seven of which are licensed recovery home facilities and, four of which are also affordable housing units. On a daily basis, we provide residential recovery services to over 800 individuals.
